TdF Day Seven

The flat-stage formula announced Wednesday held true again today.  Two differences: (1) the peloton caught the break at 10 km, and (2) there were 226.5 km of boredom today before the last km of sheer excitement–it was the longest stage of this year’s Tour.  Cavendish won again, picking up quite a few points on Hushovd and currently sitting in fifth place in the Green Jersey competition.  He might be in fourth now if he hadn’t sat up on Wednesday.  Still, the most boring day of the Tour beats the most exciting day of NASCAR, with its 2000 left turns.  Tomorrow, the mountains.  Every true racer and every true tifoso is crying “bring ’em on!”
